Ladies of hope is a non-profit organisation based in the deep south of Johannesburg. Founded by Myrtle Williams, Ladies of hope started in the early 2000s as a prayer group that later grew into a staple NPO within the community of Ennerdale
CEO & Founder Biography Summary
Myrtle Charmain Williams, 60, founded Ladies of Hope in the early 2000’s. Born and bred in Grasmere, Mid-Ennerdale, she is no stranger to the struggles of Ennerdale. Growing up in Ennerdale she outgrew her environment and its limitation and started her professional career as a bank employee, back office. Through determination and hard work, she ended up being a consultant that travelled the world. Myrtle later ventured into opening her own construction company. Travelling the world, myrtle always looked at the different societies and longed for the development of her society. “My community was broken and was in need of dire help, that’s where I decided to action by visiting and praying for the elderly”.

Ladies of Hope serves as a hospice center in Ennerdale, South Africa. This dedicated non-profit organization provides essential palliative care services to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Their center offers a compassionate and supportive environment where patients and their families can find comfort and assistance during challenging times.
Palliative Home-based Care & Elderly Service Center
Governed by the Department of Social Development our trained clinical staff of caregivers visit, bathe, and treat the frail elderly on a weekly basis. Our elderly service center provide extramural activities to keep the elderly active, as well as pamper, spoil, and provide counseling with monthly outings
Palliative Care
Palliative care is a specialized medical approach that focuses on improving the quality of life for patients with life limiting illnesses. Our 14-bed In-Patient-Unit Hospice Center under APPC – Association of Palliative Care Centers of South Africa provide palliative care to the community of Ennerdale.
Palliative Care Training
Governed and regulated by APCC, our training center provide accredited and non accredited courses. Our students that graduated moved on to volunteer at varies palliative care centers, oversea au pair, and others formed part of ladies of hope staff.
On-going Feeding Scheme
Our Feeding scheme program is designed to provide nutritious meals to individuals and communities in need. Our initiative mainly target vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and those living in extreme poverty. A warm meal heal

LOH Palliative Care Training Centre
Our newly opened palliative care training center aims at educating the community of Ennerdale concerning homebased care and community care. The center successfully completed 3 courses since opening.
Partnered with APCC we are glad to announce that some of our courses is accredited with APCC.
These courses are available to the public and caters for the underprivileged people with a desire to learn and empower themselves through education. You can study courses such as Basic Homebased care and first aid courses to mention
a few.
